Dozens of eager gamers in Tayside and Fife queued up at midnight to get the new Call of Duty game.
GAME stores in Dundee, Perth, Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy all opened late so punters could be among the first to get their hands on a copy of Call of Duty: Advance Warfare.
Stores across the UK opened at 11pm to allow fans to play the game as soon as possible.
However, although dozens of brave souls braved the cold November night to purchase the game others opted for an easier option.
Dundee gamer Steven McDee Tweeted: “This is why sometimes digital downloads are better, too cold to be waiting out these days.”
The first person shooter features Oscar winning actor Kevin Spacey.
So far the Call of Duty series has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.
However, the series has been regularly criticised for its violence. The Red Cross even called for games like Call of Duty to include in-game punishments for war crimes such as shooting ambulances or civilians.
