Former Dundee businessman Scot Young has been found dead after falling from the window of his London penthouse flat onto railings below.
Mr Young, who was ordered to pay his ex-wife Michelle a £20 million divorce settlement after a bitter six-year legal battle last year, fell four storeys from the window of his Marylebone home on Monday night.
Firefighters had to cut through the iron railings before the 52-year-old’s body could be removed.
It is understood he had moved into the £3 million with a new partner earlier this year. The property was next door to the former home of Ringo Starr.
Mr Young a property developer son of ex-Dundee United player Duncan Young claimed he was penniless and bankrupt with debts which added up to £28 million during his divorce from Michelle, from whom he separated in 2009.
In January last year, Mr Justice Moor imposed a six-month prison term on Mr Young after concluding that he had failed to provide financial information to his wife in the run-up to the trial and was in contempt of court.
He was eventually ordered to pay his ex-wife £20 million, a sum she described as a disgrace.
The couple have two daughters together: Scarlet (21) and Sasha (19).
A Met Police spokesman said: “A man, believed aged in his early 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”
