Fire-damaged nursery Technotots, at Wester Gourdie Industrial Estate, has re-opened just one week after a disastrous fire.
Fire ripped through the daycare centre last Monday and staff and outside workers have toiled tirelessly ever since to get the centre back up and running.
Regulators visited over the weekend and were “delighted” with how staff had turned the building around.
Two rooms remain sealed and will require work by tradesmen in the New Year, but manager Angela McGoldrick was on hand to welcome children and parents to the revamped premises.
She said: “We’re back to doing what we do best, I’m very proud of everyone for all the work they did.
“Everyone has been magnificent in their endeavours to get us open as soon as possible.
“They wiped away the tears, rolled up their sleeves and got back to work.
“All the outside people who came to help us were giving every minute and every man they could, and my staff have been working as labourers moving furniture as well.”
Fire ripped through the building early last Monday, and parents who had childcare plans had to find other provisions.
Ms McGoldrick said: “We wouldn’t be open without our friends, family and all the parents who helped us out.
“All the toys were condemned, so we had to completely refill the nursery with people donating things.
“Many many toys were gifted to us and we are so grateful for that,” she said.
“Getting the furniture at such short notice was very difficult, but our supplier pulled out absolutely all of the stops to get it in in time.
“The generosity of everybody has been absolutely overwhelming.”
Parent Lorna Martin has a long association with the nursery, with children attending for seven years.
She said: “The staff have done an absolutely fantastic job. My little boy is three, and I know he’s delighted to be back and we’re very glad to have children back.”
