The Dundee Science Festival drew tens of thousands of people to the city, more than quadrupling last year’s attendances.
Nearly 40,000 people took part in hundreds of events for the fifth festival, which had just 8,000 attendees last year.
The festival drew people from Tayside, Fife and beyond, according to organisers, with one person attending as many as 30 different events.
Laura Wilkie, festivals and development manager at Dundee Science Centre, said: “The festival offering was the largest ever in its five-year history, and together with the number of exhibitions we introduced this year, the total number of participants was significantly higher than last year.
“However, we also had very strong numbers attending the entire programme of events, from talks and walks to family fun days and comedy shows. Dundee Science Festival is all about taking science to people of all ages and backgrounds and it was fantastic to bring in some new topics this year too, to widen people’s perceptions of science even more.
“We would like to thank the people of Dundee and beyond who took part in the festival and making it the success that it was.”
