A man on anti-psychotic medicine who threatened to bite police officers has been warned to stay off alcohol.
Andrew Simpson, 47, of Tulloch Court, Dundee, was warned by Sheriff Tom Hughes not to indulge in alcohol until he returns to the sheriff court for sentencing.
Simpson admitted that on Friday, at Tulloch Court, he acted in an aggressive manner, threatened to bite a police constable and repeatedly shouted and swore.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told the court the police had received a number of phone calls relating to the accused on both Thursday and Friday that made them concerned for his welfare.
When they attended at his property on Friday, they discovered Simpson locked inside his home under the influence of alcohol.
He shouted and swore at police but refused to open the door so they could check on him.
After lengthy negotiations, the officers gained entry but were forced to handcuff him after his behaviour continued.
When asked if he had anything sharp, the accused replied: “Yes, my teeth, I am going to bite you.”
Simpson was released on bail and sentence was deferred until January 21 for social work reports.
