A major UK beauty competition has selected a Dundee model to run on their behalf in the London Marathon.
Elaine Harris, who said she has never run anywhere in her life, will be running for Top Model UK and raising money for the charity, Children with Cancer.
The 33-year-old is in training for a month on the West African island of Cape Verde.
She said: “Having never run anywhere in my life I have taken on the somewhat gigantic task of running over 26 miles.
“The only thing that keeps me going through my torturous training is the thought that I am representing Top Model UK and helping to raise money for such a humbling cause: Children With Cancer.”
The beauty queen was a finalist in Top Model UK 2014 and has now been invited to join the Grand Finalists Selection Panel for 2015.
Elaine’s modelling career took off after reaching the finals last year and she recently modelled for Kolchagov Barba at London Fashion Week.
She has also been snapped by companies across the world, with American Fashion Couture Magazine being the latest publication to run a feature on her remarkable rise.
She aims to raise at least £1,000 by running the world-famous marathon in April.
