A Dundee man has died after falling ill at a city centre casino.
It is believed the gambler suffered a heart attack while at the Grosvenor G Casino on Marketgait. Attempts were made to administer first aid before he was taken to Ninewells Hospital.
A spokeswoman for Grosvenor Casinos confirmed the man had taken ill in the casino and has since died.
She said: “We can confirm a customer became unwell at our casino in Dundee on Tuesday December 23.
“Our employees called an ambulance and the customer was taken to hospital where, we have been informed, he passed away.
“Our sympathies are with the customer’s family.”
It is understood the deceased man was a regular at the casino and often played the slot machines.
Police were made aware of the incident and confirmed the man has died.
A spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm the sudden death of a 63-year-old man at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, on Tuesday, December 23.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. There are no apparent suspicious circumstances.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said paramedics had attended the scene.
She said: “Paramedics attended a male patient who was treated on the scene at the casino.”
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) confirmed that it has been made aware of the incident.
