Serial rapist Allan Johnstone sentenced to 20 years in prison
ByDavid McCann
A serial rapist who abused women in Tayside over a 20-year period has been jailed.
Allan Johnstone raped six women in Dundee and Forfar between 1984 and 2004 during his campaign of terror.
During his trial, the court heard that Johnstone was a sexual bully who ‘got off’ on humiliating his victims.
One was beaten with a poker for taking too long to make a bacon sandwich while another was attacked after she didn’t put enough sugar in his cup of tea.
One woman was forced to lick up the contents of an ashtray and another was made to drink milk from a dog bowl after she was locked in a porch by him.
At the High Court in Glasgow, Lord Bannatyne sentenced Johnstone to 20 years in prison followed by a 10-year supervision order.
He has also been placed on the sex offenders list indefinitely.
