Police have been called to Ninewells Hospital after a man jumped out of a window.
The unknown male is reported to have smashed through a window in the level seven west ward block corridor, he then plunged several storeys down into an internal garden.
It is reported that he struck a fire escape structure while falling, and was injured but survived.
He is thought not to be in critical condition following the fall. Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at 10:15am.
Eyewitnesses describe a broken window on the seventh floor concourse and “lots of blood.”
One eyewitness said: “The entrance to the level seven west ward block corridor was closed off and visitors were being redirected.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that we attended an incident in the area of Ninewells at 10.10am today after reports of concerns for a man. Inquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for NHS Tayside said: “There was an incident in Ninewells earlier today. Due to patient confidentiality it would not be appropriate to comment.”
