An Angus mother is living in fear of vandals who smashed her front window with one of her garden gnomes.
Claire Nicoll, from Monifieth, had just put her two children, aged three and five years old, to bed when she heard a smash.
“I got the fright of my life and my first thought was that someone had smashed the windscreen of my car,” said Claire, who lives near Grange Primary School.
“I rushed to the front door and looked out, as did some of my neighbours.
“My car was OK and it was only when I turned to go back into the house, that I realised that my front window was smashed.”
The 32-year-old said a gnome from her back garden had been used to break the window and is living in constant fear of something else happening.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland is making inquiries after a window was smashed in Monifieth at 9pm on Sunday.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.”
