The main lifeboat and inshore boat were both launched at around 2pm after reports a man had fallen from the road bridge. Operations manager Dave Martin said the casualty was found lying face down in the water. When recovered he was unconscious and not breathing. He said: ”We started cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and administered oxygen. ”The whole crew took turns working on him and by the time we got him to shore he was breathing again.” The man was then taken to Ninewells Hospital. The bridge was closed during the drama, causing lengthy tailbacks in the city centre.
