The incident took place outside the TSB bank in Albert Square at 12.50pm. Police were quickly on the scene and cordoned off the area where the assault took place. The injured man was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital. He was to have a CT scan and was being kept in hospital overnight for observation. A 21-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.
