A man has been released by the authorities after a probe into an alleged robbery at a flat in Dundee.
More than a dozen police officers converged on a block of flats in the city on Thursday, including officers wearing riot helmets and shields.
The incident, which happened on Court Street North, took place at about 2pm.
Several police vans were also spotted at the scene as officers focused their attentions on a flat within a common close.
Police subsequently arrested a 35-year-old man and confirmed that he had been charged in connection with an alleged robbery.
The man was then due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court.
However, the case did not call in court and he has now been given his liberty.
A spokesman for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said there were a variety of reasons why a case may not call.
However, he said he could not confirm the circumstances in this instance.
The case could, however, be raised again at any point.
The spokesman said: “The procurator fiscal received a report concerning a 35-year-old man in connection with an alleged incident in Dundee on March 30 2016.
“The accused was liberated from custody and did not appear in court.
“The case against him remains live and under consideration.”
Witnesses said 15 officers in riot gear were seen entering the block of flats, making their way into a property on the first floor.
Officers at the scene said only that they had been called to attend a flat within the building due to an “ongoing incident”.
