Kingsway East death: two men charged and due in court

Two men have been charged in connection with the death of a 56-year-old man on Kingsway East in Dundee on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a 31-year-old and a 29-year-old are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today following the death of Alexander McLennan.

A third man also 31 has this morning been detained by officers in connection with the incident.

Mr McLennan, of Longtown Place, died as a result of injuries he sustained in the incident, which happened at about 2.45pm on the verge of the eastbound carriageway between the Cutty Sark pub and the junction with Westhall Court.

Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident. Anyone with information should contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any police officer. Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
