Woman held by police after man dies in Dundee flat

A man has died after a disturbance in Dundee this afternoon.

Police say emergency services were called to a flat in Provost Road at about 1.15pm.

They found a man understood to be in his early 50s seriously injured. Despite the best efforts of paramedics the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His details will not be released until he has been formally identified and next of kin have been informed.

A woman, who is also believed to be in her 50s, has been detained in connection with the incident and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The address has been cordoned off to allow a detailed examination of the scene and door-to-door enquiries are being carried out.For more, see Wednesday’s Courier
