The mother of Dundee mum Mary McLaren, who was murdered by Irish Traveller Patrick Rae in 2010, has hit out after Rae was allowed to move to an Irish prison to complete his 20-year sentence.
Serial sex attacker Rae, 44, was jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh and had been serving his sentence at Glenochil in Clackmannanshire.
However, he pleaded for a move closer to his family and reports say ministers approved the controversial transfer.
Mary’s mother Margaret McIntosh, 57, said: “It’s not fair that he’s getting to serve his time in Ireland when he murdered my daughter.
“I believe he should serve his time in Scotland, he should serve his 20 years here.”
Rae was said to be “desperate” for a move after being targeted by cons who were sickened by his crime.
