Dundee man in court to face Douglas knife attack charges

A Dundee man has appeared in court accused of a serious knife assault.
Daniel Wright, 31, of Baldovie Terrace, appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court today on a petition alleging he assaulted Gary McCafferty by repeatedly stabbing him on the body with a knife or similar instrument to his severe injury.
He was remanded in custody and the case was continued for further examination.
His appearance related to an incident in Baldovie Terrace, Douglas, on Monday night which sparked a major police operation and resulted in a 34-year-old man being treated at Ninewells Hospital.
