Kingsway lorry trailer accident: man to appear on drink-drive charge
ByAndrew Argo
The 40-year-old driver of the articulated lorry that toppled on busy Kingsway West on Thursday night has been charged with drink-driving.
The vehicle’s trailer of peat overturned as it came off the city’s Myrekirk roundabout. The container slid along the road on its side before coming to a stop.
The episode happened close to the pedestrian crossing, which fortunately no one was using at the time.
There was traffic chaos as one lane of the major road travelling towards Perth was closed.
The driver is set to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today in connection with the incident.
