Chairs delay forces brass band to stand on ceremony at Magdalen Green

It was standing room only at the start of Dundee’s Sunday bands concerts at Magdalen Green but it had to be!

The Tayport Instrumental Band turned up to find no seats had been delivered to the bandstand for them. The show had to go on, however, and like true performers they played the opening melodies standing up.

Seats did eventually arrive and the band played the rest of their performance seated for the appreciative audience.

Across the city Arbroath Instrumental Band entertained at Baxter Park in the city council programme that runs until August 10 at Magdalen Green, Baxter Park and Barnhill Rock Garden, Broughty Ferry.
