A Dundee city centre restaurant has been given permission to open a takeaway despite an objector raising fears of noise and litter.
The Jahangir, off Hawkhill, will also be able to replace its existing entrance canopy.
A nearby resident claimed the development would result in “noise pollution, rubbish and probable rowdiness” from more late-night passersby.
But the city council officer dealing with the application said: “There is no reason to assume that the proposal will attract additional noise or litter or have a detrimental impact on the local neighbourhood.
“Any issues regarding the assumed behaviour of the clientele of the proposed takeaway cannot be taken into consideration.”
The officer said: “It is considered that given the scale of development, within an existing restaurant facility, the proposal shall not result in the loss of environmental qualities to a significant degree for the nearby residential occupiers.”
The restaurant and takeaway will not be allowed to operate independently and only from 9am to midnight.
