Four nines equal memorable hole in one for Dundee golfer
ByThe Courier Reporter
Nines are numbers a golfer wants to keep off his scorecard, but for one Dundee player four nines equalled a hole in one.
Craig Storrier, 26, had been taking part in a golf tournament dedicated to his late grandfather at Caird Park’s nine-hole golf course.
It was the ninth anniversary of the tournament, which falls on the day his grandfather died, and on the ninth hole, Craig managed a hole in one with a nine iron.
The group taking part included Craig’s dad, uncles and other extended family and friends.
No one noticed the nines coincidence at the time, and it was only at the end of their day’s play that the penny dropped.
“My uncle pointed it out,” said Craig.
“It’s a really strange coincidence, and we all laughed about it, what are the chances really?
“It’s the first hole in one any of us have ever had in all the years we’ve been playing there.”
