Police say the 50-year-old male cyclist suffered a cut on his head but is not thought to have been seriously injured. The accident happened near the Bridgeview Restaurant at about 7.20am, and the road was closed to all traffic. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to treat the injured cyclist, who was taken to Ninewells Hospital. He was kept there for observation “due to the complex nature of head injuries.” The road was closed for almost three hours, but was reopened at around 10.10am. The incident led to long build-ups of traffic on the major Dundee arterial route. Commuter traffic heading into the city was affected as were motorists travelling towards Perth and workers heading to Ninewells Hospital.
