Dundee United and Dundee players are encouraging people to saddle up and support this year’s Cyclathon.
Claverhouse Rotary Club has organised the cycle tour of the city’s green circular for charity, which takes place on Sunday September 14.
The nominated cause is Cash for Kids, which tackles child poverty.
Dundee United captain Sean Dillon said: “This is a very worthwhile event which allows people to raise huge amounts for local charities and we are delighted to be associated with it.”
Dundee’s players got on their bikes during their pre-season tour of Hungary, and Jim McAlister said: “Cycling is a great way to build up core fitness and we wish Rotary Club of Claverhouse every success with this year’s event.”
Participants can also raise funds for their own chosen charity. Individuals, families and teams can take part and so far about 150 participants have registered for this year’s event.
This is about 50% of the target and many more people normally turn up on the day. Last year the 450 entrants raised in excess of £30,000 for good causes.
