The traffic flow in Lochee High Street’s one-way system will change overnight on Sunday.
The direction of the northern section will be reversed from Bank Street to Nicoll’s Lane and will now be south to north.
A new set of traffic lights will open at the northern junction with the bypass to allow vehicles exiting Lochee High Street to turn left or right.
The changes are part of an ongoing multi-million-pound regeneration of the area which includes the demolition of vacant buildings, new housing and new public spaces.
The creation of a new street and a transport hub will increase the number of bus services in Lochee High Street from six to 17 per hour.
City development convener Will Dawson said: “The regeneration of Lochee is an important project that has already seen a massive amount of development going on in the area.
“There is a buzz about the place that has been absent for some years and this final and permanent change will mean bus passengers will find it easier to access Lochee High Street.”
Bus services will then divert via Bank Street and users are being advised to check www.dundeetravelinfo.com for more information.
