Curators at the McManus Museum and Art Gallery will be taking to Twitter to answer questions today.
The #AskaCurator event is part of a global initiative to let members of the public ‘behind the scenes’ of their local museums.
McManus curators took part for the first time last year, along with those from 622 other museums, in 35 countries, to respond to a diverse range of questions posted on the social media site.
This year five curators will take part in the event answering questions from their roles in natural history, world cultures, archaeology, currency and social history.
They will be online between 11am and 12pm, and 1pm to 2pm but will not answer any political questions relating to Scotland’s independence referendum.
People can use the #AskACurator hashtag and add @McManusDundee to tweets, to get a response from the curators as soon as possible.
