Police escort for ambulance after industrial accident in Montrose
ByAndrew Liddle
A man has been taken to hospital by ambulance under police escort with what are believed to be serious injuries following an industrial accident in Montrose.
The accident happened around 3.40pm at Gemini Corrosion Services in Brent Avenue.
Approach roads to the A90 from Montrose down to Dundee were blocked by police to allow the ambulance to negotiate the stretch unhindered as it made its way to Ninewells Hospital.
Police confirmed there had been an industrial accident at the site but could provide no further details of how the man came by his injuries or whether his injuries are life-threatening.
A spokesman said the force may release further details later.
An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed they attended at Brent Avenue at 3.40pm but again would provide no details of the man’s injuries.
No one from Gemini was available for comment.
Gemini was founded in 1982 and its initial service was based in Stonehaven.
In 1998 Gemini expanded yet again to satisfy the tubular requirements of the offshore industry and in 1999 designed and commissioned the construction of a purpose built Tubular and Corrosion facility at Montrose.
