‘Creepy’ Dundee man followed teen into flat and made sexual comments
ByAlan Wilson
A man who followed a teenage girl into her flat uninvited after asking her questions of a sexual nature had his sentence deferred for reports.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that Christopher Doig, 38, of Balgarthno Terrace, approached the girl at a junction as she waited to meet her boyfriend.
Fiscal depute Laura Bruce said: “The accused crossed the road and engaged her in conversation. She described him as acting in a creepy manner.
“He then said, ‘Do you enjoy sex? Boys like sex, girls like sex’.”
The pair then went into a house and Doig was asked to leave, which he did.
Police were contacted and, when they arrived, they noted the girl was “very distressed”.
The accused was later traced and told police he had asked inappropriate questions.
He admitted that, on June 1, he conducted himself in a disorderly manner by approaching a female and making comments towards her of an unwanted sexual nature, followed her, entered a property uninvited, placed her in a state of fear and alarm and committed a breach of the peace.
Sentence was deferred to October 16.
