A former police officer is to stand trial at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of stalking his ex-partner.
George Stewart, 38, of Reform Street, Monifieth, is accused of two charges relating to alleged incidents earlier this year.
Stewart denies that, between March 21 and April 1, at his home address or elsewhere, he engaged in a course of conduct which caused his ex-partner Jordan Evans fear and alarm.
It is alleged that Stewart repeatedly sent Ms Evans text and electronic messages and visited her at her work, when she specifically asked him not to contact her.
He further denies that, between June 15 and July 5, at David Lloyd Gym, Ethiebeaton Park, Monifieth, he again engaged in a course of conduct which caused Ms Evans fear and alarm.
Prosecutors claim that Stewart caused Michelle Hadden to hand Ms Evans a birthday card containing photographs, and thereafter attended at her work place, presented her with correspondence, engaged her in conversation, and refused to leave when asked to do so.
Both charges have been brought under Section 39 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act, which covers allegations of stalking.
A trial is scheduled to take place on February 13, with an intermediate diet on January 29.
Stewart had been stationed at a variety of police offices in Arbroath and Dundee during a career spanning more than a decade. He resigned from the then Tayside Police in 2011.
