Aldi’s Adonis in shape for Rome bodybuilding championship

An Aldi supermarket manager will swap the tills for tanning oil when he appears at an international body building competition next week.
Brian Soutar, from Ballumbie, will show off his muscles when he competes for the title of Mr World at the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship in Rome.
The 39-year-old assistant manager at Aldi on Arbroath Road, wasn’t even going to try out for the regional rounds but a friend managed to persuade him he had the physique to go far.
Brian said: “I was helping to run another show and one of the guys asked me if I was doing the professional ones this year.
“I said I wasn’t and he made me take my top off. Then he was like, ‘no, you’re competing’.”
He went on to win the regional rounds this summer, and after losing out to a rival in the British rounds will be representing Scotland.
He said: “Mr England’s my target. I want to beat him.”
