Photographer Jamie Whyte is a man with burning ambition as his latest picture demonstrates.
The 36-year-old may only have started taking photos 18 months ago but his stunning images are already proving to be hot stuff online.
Jamie, a former engineer who is now studying photography at Dundee and Angus College, uses long exposure shots to capture spectacular fiery images.
He took this shot of Camperdown House in Dundee on Tuesday night.
“I took the picture as part of a college project,” he said.

“I burn ropes which takes about 10 minutes to set up but the fire only lasts about 50 seconds.”
Jamie’s interest in fiery photography began when he was convalescing after breaking a knee.

One of his friends was a fire eater and he decided he would make a perfect subject.
Jamie’s interest developed to such an extent that he even learned to breathe fire himself – but is always aware of the need to take precautions when out on a shoot.
“I phone the fire brigade and the police to let them know what I’m doing,” he said. “That was they will know what is happening if someone phones them to say they can see someone playing with fire.”
As well as studying photography, Jamie sells his pictures through his website Foxhound Photographyand is a member of the Bonnie Dundee group of photographers.
