A high-value vintage bass guitar similar to ones used by the Who and the Beach Boys in their heyday has been stolen from a car parked outside a Dundee pub.
Officers in the city are appealing for information after the white 1964 Fender Precision bass was taken from a red Vauxhall Astra estate outside Nicolls Bar and Kitchen on Constitution Road.
The opportunistic theft took place in a 15-minute window between 6.45pm and 7pm on Friday, while the owner was in Nicolls.
The iconic instrument, believed to be worth a ”significant” four-figure sum, was in a black soft bag with the logo Lakland.
Anyone with information on where the guitar is now, or anyone who remembers seeing anyone acting suspiciously in the area, is asked to get in touch with Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222.
