ByThe Courier Reporter
A four-year-old girl has been injured in a stone attack on a bus in Dundee.
The child was hurt and left “distressed” when a stone was thrown through the open window of a bus travelling on Berwick Drive near the junction at the Laurels on Tuesday evening.
Two boys, described as being 12-13 years old and both wearing green hooded tops and light-coloured tracksuit bottoms, were seen throwing the stones at around 7.55pm.
A police spokesman said: “The girl suffered a minor injury and was understandably distressed by the incident. She attended as a precaution at Ninewells Hospital where she required no further treatment.
“The implications of throwing any type of missile at a moving vehicle are very serious indeed, not least when it is public transport carrying passengers.
“Those who get involved in this reckless behaviour may view it as a bit of harmless fun, but they should consider the potential consequences of their actions. Their actions threaten lives.”
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
