New Dundee boss Paul Hartley faces driving ban for speeding

New Dundee manager Paul Hartley could face a driving ban after admitting speeding.

Hartley drove at 50mph in a 30mph zone in Motherwell in April 2012.

The former Celtic player has now crossed the automatic driving ban threshold of 12 points.

He appeared at Hamilton Justice of the Peace Court on Wednesday, just hours before being introduced as the new manager at Dens.

However, Hartley’s lawyer succeeded with an appeal for an “exceptional hardship” hearing where he will be allowed to argue that he should be allowed to keep his licence.

That will be heard next month.
