Steven Bruce, 20, of Blacklock Crescent admitted on December 9 at an address in Thurso Crescent assaulting Kathleen Edgar, pushing her on a couch and repeatedly punching her on the head, and then in a common close pulling her to the ground and repeatedly punching her on the head and butting her on the head, all to her injury.
He also admitted on the same date assaulting Caroline Murphy by punching her on the head.
The court that Bruce had been drinking. He suddenly stood up and punched Ms Murphy for no reason and then attacked Ms Edgar when she tried to intervene.
He had then followed Ms Murphy outside.
Ms Edgar went outside and he lunged at her and attacked her a second time.
Sheriff Munro deferred sentence until March 26 for reports.
