A Dundeee woman has become the only Scot to reach the final stages of a national modelling competition.
Elaine Harris, 33, who has just returned from a photo shoot in Cape Verde, is getting ready to strut her stuff at the Top Model UK 2014 final in London’s Hilton Metropole next month.
“A local photographer took a picture of me to put on the front of a brochure that I entered in a couple of competitions and it won,” she said. “I went round the different modelling agencies and a couple wanted to sign me.
“Then I heard about this competition in London and I got through.”
The Top Model professional model search campaign is now in its eighth successful year. More than 4,000 entries have been received and whittled down to the 160 finalists.
The contest is also raising funds for Children with Cancer UK. In 2013 the competition raised more than £10,000 for the charity, which the organisers hope to beat this year.
There is a public vote award which is purely done to show support for each contestant and raise money for the charity.
Elaine’s voting page is at virgingivingmoney/ElaineH and she has also been sponsored by West End Garage.
