Mum-of-two Fiona Mackie, who owned a hair salon on Brook Street in the Ferry, died at home on Monday surrounded by her family. They paid tribute to the way Fiona, of Colin Gibson Drive in Monifieth, remained positive during her fight with the disease. Husband Mark, 45, said: “She had been battling it for more than two years. “It was a real shock when we found out, but it never got her down. “She was still more concerned about other people’s feelings and how they were. “That’s just the kind of person that she was. “Fiona was just a really caring person. “It’s still early days but we really miss her she has left a hole in our lives.”
