Thieves cause thousands of pounds-worth of damage to electricty sub-station in Dundee

Police are investigating after an electricity sub-station was damaged in Dundee.
A transformer was vandalised at the site in the Wester Gourdie Industrial Estate between 11.30pm on Tuesday and 1am on Wednesday.
Officers say thieves caused thousands of pounds-worth of damage when they attempted to steal copper plates.
Police Scotland is asking the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. This includes people or vehicles seen at or near to electricity substations.
Anyone who has information that could assist Police Scotland with their investigation into this incident, or who saw or heard any suspicious activity is being urged to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
