Planners back new house near Broughty Ferry mansion

Planners have approved a proposal to build a split-level house near an A-listed West Ferry mansion despite neighbours’ objections.

Concerns were raised about the scale, design and adverse impact on Beach Tower on Ralston Road.

Applicant Alan Jardine can go ahead with the development at 2 Tower Court on the basis that “the contemporary bespoke design of the house, in addition to the high quality finishing materials, will ensure the proposal respects the diversity and character of the area”, planners ruled.
