Tributes have been paid to a man who died after a crash on Tuesday night. Douglas Grewar, who was 77, died after he had a suspected heart attack while driving. Sons Douglas, Steven and Kenneth paid tribute to Mr Grewar, whose greatest passions were his family, bowling and Dundee FC. Steven said: “He was just a normal Dundee bloke. The common word that people use is that he was just the ‘loveliest’ man.” Mr Grewar was born in the city, grew up on Gellatly Street and went to school in Stobswell. He started his working life in rope works off Perth Road. Soon after he joined the army, where he spent three years as a signal operator. On his return, he worked at the Astrol fridge company, where he met wife Moira. He then moved to NCR where he worked as an inspector until his retirement at the age of 63. Mr Grewar served for a time as the president of Baxter Park Bowling Club. He also enjoyed hillwalking and travelling with Moira, and was a season ticket holder at Dens Park for many years.
