Dundee Rep Ensemble will present the world premiere of Cars and Boys by Scottish playwright Stuart Paterson next month.
Catherine Miller, played by ensemble member Ann Louise Ross, lies in her hospital bed, felled by a stroke, and rails at the doctors and nurses, but her life as the boss of a major haulage company was never going to make her a model patient.
As she drifts in and out of consciousness, all the significant people in her life drift in and out of sight. The play asks what price has Catherine paid for success?
Cars and Boys paints the portrait of a towering woman battling with her morality.
Directed by Philip Howard and designed by Scottish theatre designer Lisa Sangster, Cars and Boys will be performed in a transverse-seating auditorium on the theatre’s main stage, providing an intimate theatrical experience.
Stuart Paterson is one of Scotland’s leading playwrights and is well known for his Christmas family shows at the Rep. Cars and Boys has been written specifically for the actors of Dundee Rep Ensemble.
The production runs from April 11 to 26 and tickets are on sale from Dundee Rep Theatre box office on 01382 223530 or at dundeerep.co.uk.
