Barefoot thief told police he stole car for English crime gang

A Dundee man who released the handbrake of a car causing it to collide with a parked car told police he was ordered to take the vehicle for a ‘major heist’.
Thomas Sandison, 21, of Albert Square, admitted taking the car without permission from Glenagnes Road on October 8.
He also admitted being in charge of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (100 mics) and without insurance.
When police found him he was “barefoot, dishevelled and heavily under the influence of drink or drugs.”
Sandison told police he had been ordered to take the car by an organised crime gang in England.
A roadside breath test found him to be almost three times the drink-drive limit.
Sheriff Tom Hughes deferred sentence for reports until April 23, granted Sandison bail and banned him from driving in the meantime.
