Mothers and daughters in Dundee are being encouraged to extend their Mother’s Day celebrations by entering this year’s Race for Life in June.
Although mum’s special day is just past, the city’s women can spend more quality time together by entering Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
The women-only series of 5k, 10k and Pretty Muddy events across the country generate millions of pounds every year and organisers of the race are urging people to sign up for the Camperdown Park event on Sunday June 22.
Jayne Glasgow of Race for Life said: “The feelgood factor that comes from being part of the formidable army of women will last far longer than the more traditional Mother’s Day gifts of chocolates and flowers.
“We all know how committed mothers can be when they really make up their minds to do something. And we want to harness that power and create a unique force that will stop cancer in its tracks.
“That’s why we need mums and daughters to enter Race for Life today,” she said.
Last year, 2,855 women took part in the event and raised £171,000. To enter Race for Life events in Scotland visit www.raceforlife.org or call 0845 600 6050.
