Car smashes into Dundee United’s Tannadice stadium

Dundee United’s Tannadice stadium has been damaged by an early-morning car crash.

A black Ford Fiesta smashed into the area at turnstile No 15 about 5am on Sunday, damaging the wall.

Police say the driver left the scene, leaving the smashed car behind.

Police are now hunting for the driver.

The incident happened hours after United had been beaten 2-0 by Celtic in Saturday morning’s lunchtime SPFL match, leading to false rumours that the visiting fans might have been responsible for the damage.

Anyone who saw a black Ford Fiesta being driven in the area around the time is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or any police officer.
