Two Dundee men who beat up one of their wives’ lovers have escaped with a fine.
Graham Bell and Allan Gall, both 25, ambushed a man in a park, leaving him with cuts and a broken eye socket in June last year, after finding out he was having an affair with Bell’s wife.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard the man had met Bell’s wife three months prior to the assault, striking up a friendship that “developed into a relationship” after Mrs Bell spent the night at the man’s house.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson said Bell’s wife had then asked the man to meet her in Baxter Park to discuss the fact her husband had found out about their relationship.
The court previously heard that the two thugs surprised the man, emerging from bushes in the park as he was meeting Bell’s wife.
Bell then proceeded to punch the man “at least eight or nine times” in the head after his wife had fled the scene, a court previously heard.
The pair had earlier pled guilty to the assault in Baxter Park.Graham Bell, of Pitkerro Road, was fined £500, and Allan Gall, of Mary Slessor Square, was fined £200.
