A Dundee teacher who was unemployed for three years due to ill-health has praised the programme which helped him back into work.
Peter McInnes is back working as a drama teacher in a city secondary school after participating in the work programme with Triage Central Limited.
Although born in Dundee, his career in staff training and development had taken him to Edinburgh and Fife for 30 years before he returned to his home city due to illness.
He was referred to the work programme which he said gave him a sense of value and the confidence to get back into work.
“Finding a job gave me a real sense of achievement,” Peter said.
“To begin with I didn’t think I would ever work again. However, by going through the process, my attitude changed and now I don’t see it so much as going back through a closed door but finding a new door to walk through.”
Peter then went on to work at Triage while he waited to start his new teaching job.
Lisa Gardner, of Triage Central Limited, said Peter’s achievement shows how people can turn their lives around.
