Ronnie McIntosh’s widow to run marathon in his memory

The widow of Dundee double-amputee Ronnie McIntosh is running a marathon in his memory at the age of 69.
Cecilia McIntosh is tackling her first marathon next month in Edinburgh to raise cash for the causes close to Ronnie’s heart.
Hawkhill Harrier Ronnie, who had received a kidney transplant, died in January 2013 after years of fundraising.
Cecilia is raising money for the Tayside Kidney Patients’ Association, and said: “I’m turning 70 in November but Ronnie keeps me going all the way.
“If he was here he would be really proud of me. I love it and it is what keeps me going, thinking about him all the time because he loved running.
“He used to say to me that if you can go out and run then go out and run.”
Her friend Margaret Davidson is also running for Ronnie’s charities.
The first Scottish Transplant/Organ Donation race took place in October at Camperdown Park in Ronnie’s memory, and Caird Park’s athletics stadium was named after him.
