Dundee Waterfront regeneration picks up national award
ByThe Courier Reporter
The regeneration of Dundee’s waterfront has picked up a nationally-recognised award.
The project won in the Infrastructure category at the recent Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Regional Awards for Scotland.
The awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment.
Convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee Will Dawson said: “It is particularly pleasing that the waterfront has gained such recognition from the architects’ professional body because the awards are not purely based on the buildings, they are about the project as a whole.
“The waterfront has been collecting silverware in recent months and as the project progresses even further I am sure that we will get more recognition from experts across the country.”
Award judges took into consideration the impact the waterfront has had on the community, how the end user feels about the scheme and what really makes it stand out.
