Identical twins studying computer arts and design animation at Dundee and Angus College could soon see their work on TV.
Lisa and Lauren Rankin have been selected for a month-long placement with animation company AlbinoMosquito.
The firm, which makes animated cartoons for CBBC, chose the former Madras College pupils after a competition at the HND course in the college.
The competition to uncover the most deserving students was set by lecturer Henry Broadhurst.
Nine students entered, writing 200 words on why they were suited for the role and including a still image of their best animation work.
Despite a high standard of entry, the winners were chosen at the double the 19-year-old identical twins, who will now work with the company with a view to their work being aired on CBBC.
“It was a tough choice as all of those who took part submitted strong entries,” Mr Broadhurst said.
AlbinoMosquito will pay for accommodation and travel and are organising a tour of the new BBC studios in Salford for the twins when their placement begins in July.
“This is a really great opportunity for us,” said Lauren. “We would like to work in children’s animation in the future, so making a pilot episode which could be aired on CBBC is particularly exciting for us.”
