A teacher who spent more than three decades at St John’s High School has died suddenly.
Barbara Falconer, 55, was said by headteacher Fiona McLaggan to have been “a committed servant of our school and its wider community for 32 years”.
She said it was with great sadness that the family of St John’s had learned of the untimely passing of Miss Falconer.
Past and present pupils also posted their own tributes to the English teacher on social networking sites.
Angela Gordon said in a post on a Facebook page for the school: “To everyone who went to St John’s and knew Miss Barbara Falconer, she has died. To me she was a great teacher. Rest in peace.”
Other visitors to the page described Miss Falconer as “the best teacher in the whole school” and spoke of their shock and sadness at her passing.

Another youngster added: “Still can’t believe it, it’s mad how much she meant to me because she was just a teacher but RIP Miss Falconer you’re gonna be missed loads.”
