Dundee United will march to Celtic Park this weekend to a song sung by St John’s RC High School pupils.
‘Gauld’, sung to the tune of ‘Gold’ by Spandau Ballet, is designed to inspire the Tangerines and their wonder kid Ryan as they head to the cup final against St Johnstone.
Ryan Gauld told The Courier that he thought the song would have an uplifting effect on the team.
He said: “It is a great song, although it was a bit embarrassing being the centre of attention.
“It is always nice to hear the fans singing your name in a positive way.
“It has been great to get everyone involved and have the city behind the team,” he added.
Several squad members gathered with the pupils at the school to record a rendition of the song.
‘Gauld’ is part of a plethora of events and activities planned as Arabs in Dundee and across Scotland gear up for the match.
United face St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup final at Celtic Park on Saturday.
